The surge in Covid cases in India is giving us sleepless nights. It seems like a repeat of 2020, but this time the situation is worse. The television industry that was one of the first to restart after lockdown restrictions were lifted last year is also concerned about the Janta Curfew in Maharashtra till May 1. From actors, producers, to crew members, everyone associated with the industry is anxious as to what’s in store in coming times. Paramavatar Shri Krishna actor Prateik Chaudhury expresses concern too.
“Yes we all are worried, we really don’t know what’s going to happen right now. There are talks about another lockdown to control the infection from spreading further. Night curfew is already on. These are unprecedented times that no one was prepared for, but we have to stay strong and be there for one another,” he says urging everyone to follow precautions.
For an actor, shooting is not the only thing he needs to consider as work, feels Choudhury. Being an actor, according to him, is "a 24/7 job".
“We don’t just face the camera, we need to work on your craft, your fitness etc. Because of this pandemic, a lot of them went out of work and I am scared too. I guess this is life. It’s all about unexpected events, we have to learn to fight to survive. Zindegi mein kathinayiaan toh aate rahenge, surviving every single day gets challenging at times. So, when I don’t have any shoot or work rather than cribbing or being negative about it, I focus on myself. I use this time to better myself, watch films and series to learn. I try to make the most of this time. Having said that, I hope we are able to get over this situation soon, act responsibly, wear your mask, sanitize and maintain distance,” he ends.
