I worship acting : Ajay Kumar Singh

Producer and actor Ajay Kumar Singh, who is currently shooting for the Bengali and Marathi film Antardrishti and Adrushya, feels acting is something which comes from his soul. He is also producing the film for which he has taken the rights from the spanish film Julia’s Eyes and making it in four languages. Apart from Marathi and Bengali it will also be made in Telugu and Tamil. Interestingly Ajay is part of four films and playing the same character of a police officer. Famous cinematographer Kabir Lal is debuting as a director and will be directed all the four films.

Speaking more on his passion for acting he says,”I have been always attached to the craft. During my school and college days I was always inclined towards stage and also participated in plays. The live audience’s reaction inspired me a lot. Film making and acting have always been on my mind. In the first film I produced - Family Of Thakurganj - I have done a small cameo along with Jimmy Shergill and Saurabh Shukla and then I have been cast in the character of a DIG in Zeishan Quadri‘s series Farrey. And also the four film projects where I am playing the character of a police inspector.” So what is that one connection with you and police force. “I don’t know but people do say that my personality suits the persona of a police officer. I am glad that people think like that. My late father was also in Police force and he would have been very happy to see me in this avtaar. There is so much pride in the uniform that one cannot miss it. My mother is very happy to see me in the attire. My wife and children also support me in my career.”

So who is your all time favourite actor? “It’s one and only Dharmendra. The way he has developed his own acting style, his signature dance steps all are original and he has never copied anyone. Also he is one of the most good looking and handsome actors on silver screen.” Ajay wishes to play more characters in front of the camera as he says,”I worship acting.”
